Roof Inspections in Wenonah, NJ
Before anyone can promise how a roof will behave, somebody has to find out what is underneath the one that is there. That is what the hour is for.

Looked at from both sides
Half of what decides a roof is invisible from the ground and invisible from the top as well. Sheathing that has been quietly damp for a decade, a bathroom fan discharging into the rafters, intake vents painted shut thirty years ago: all of it reads clearly from inside the attic and not at all from outside. So the hour is split. Some of it on the covering, the rest with a torch in the loft, and the two halves checked against each other before anything is said out loud.
What gets gone over
The deck itself
Sounded underfoot and read from beneath for staining, sag and old patches.
Air in and air out
Intake at the eaves against exhaust at the ridge, because one without the other cooks a roof.
Every penetration
Boots, vents, the chimney and anything else somebody has put through the covering since.
Valleys and junctions
Where two planes meet is where a roof is asked to do the most and given the least.
Fastening pattern
Nail line, nail count and whether the course above is sitting where it should be.
The edge detail
Drip edge, fascia, and whether the last six inches were ever finished properly.
The answer you get
Three things, said plainly. What is sound and should simply be left alone. What is going to want money, and roughly which year. And whether this house can carry a full system install, or whether the deck and the ventilation need addressing first for that to mean anything. That last question is the one most inspections skip, and it is the one that decides whether a quote is worth the paper.
Why we do not charge for it
Because a roof we have not seen cannot be priced honestly, and a price given over the phone is a guess dressed as a number. The hour costs us a morning and saves everybody a wasted conversation. There is no obligation attached to it. People book one, take the notes, and do nothing for two years. That is a perfectly good outcome.
Start with the free inspection
Somebody climbs up, goes over the roof properly and leaves you with a written figure. No charge for the visit and nothing booked off the back of it.
